This comic re-telling of one of the greatest literary epics of all time, Homer's Odyssey, is set in Mississippi in 1937. The motion picture stars George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson as escapees from a chain gang, and John Goodman and Holly Hunter. Ralph Stanley"The King of Mountain Soul"
In the Artists profiles the New York Times describes Dr Ralph Stanley's haunting tenor voice as "otherworldly" and his performance of O Death as "a masterpiece of primitive mountain gospel". The Stanley Brothers 1955 Mercury Records recording Angel Band is their signature song, an all-time bluegrass classic.
