Will Bluegrass Music Play in Heaven?
Last night I talked to my old friend.
He felt low and was nearing the end.
I tried to cheer him up and when I turned to go
he said to me, "There's one last thing I want to know:
Will bluegrass music play in heaven
as it has in these old green hills of home?
Will guitars and banjos be a-ringin'
when to God's fair city I come?
Will old time gospel singin'
echo up round that great golden throne?
Will the bluegrass sound the same in heaven
as it has in these green hills of my home?
Now my friend's gone to his reward,
free from pain as he sits by our Lord.
One day not very long to that bright land I'll go
and then the answer that he found I too will know:
Will bluegrass music play in heaven
as it has in these old green hills of home?
Will guitars and banjos be a-ringin'
when to God's fair city I come?
Will old time gospel singin'
echo up round that great golden throne?
Will the bluegrass sound the same in heaven
as it has in these green hills of my home?
