Newest band member and banjo player Mitchell Van Dyke joined the Clinch Mountain Boys in December of 2010. He replaces 16 year veteran Steve Sparkman, who took a job in law enforcement. Mitchell formerly played with The Shiloh Mountain Boys and The Brickey Brothers as well as filling on occasion for Dr. Ralph in the early nineties. He has recently released a solo CD called "My Turn". Mitchell is a welcome addition to the band and does a fine job playing the Stanley Style banjo. He and his wife Becky and son Alex live in Grundy, Virginia.
